The TBS Day Schools' Advisory Board
Hello Everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to find out more about the TBS Day Schools’ Advisory Board, and what it is that we do for our wonderful schools. Listed here one can find the names of the individual school and community leaders who take the time out of their already busy lives, to help our board fulfill its mission. I would be remiss if I did not, first and foremost, thank these 2009-2010 Board members for all their past and future hard work. I enjoy collaborating with all of them, and cannot wait to see the fruits of our labors at the end of this year, and for many years to come.
The role of the advisory board is to oversee the financial security and long term strategic goals of the schools, now, and for future generations. As one can imagine, it is a difficult era for all schools and non-profits to try to do this, but as a board, we have decided that this is a window of opportunity to act more aggressively than ever to achieve these objectives.
In 2009-2010 we will need special help from our current parents as we go through two important processes. First we will be creating a formal, updated, strategic and financial plan. This will come as part of the schools’ FCIS and NAEYC accreditations due in 2010. Second, we will be partnering with a consultant company to ensure that we employ the best possible marketing strategies. We will use money to make money, but we will use that money wisely!
For these projects to be successful, we need information from our parents, and will call on each and every one to complete online surveys, and for many to participate in a variety of focus groups throughout the school year. We are really looking forward to working with our families on this, and hearing what they have to say.
Financial aid and long term endowment are also important factors that we take into account every time our board and its committees meet. The “Buy a Brick” and the “Change for Change” campaigns that the board has set up in the past two years are integral to those needs, respectively. We urge parents not to forget these important causes, and to always be on the lookout for more information about both, as it appears on the website, Renweb, Panther Pages, and in children’s take home folders.
Please take a moment to see read over the names of the members of our board, and what position they fill on the board. In doing so, one can learn more about what it is we do, and how we do it. We are available 24/7 via email, to current and prospective parents alike.
On behalf of all of us, I truly wish everyone one, Shana Tovah, a GOOD year!
